Call for papers

The 11th International Conference on Austronesian Linguistics (11·ical) will be held  in Aussois, France, 22-26 June 2009.

Scholars are invited to present papers on any aspect of language or linguistics specifically related to Austronesian languages, including but not limited to :

  • phonetics and phonology, including prosody,
  • morphosyntax,
  • pragmatics and discourse,
  • semantics and lexicography,
  • linguistic typology,
  • historical and comparative matters, including the interfaces between linguistics and archaeology, linguistics and genetics, etc.,
  • language preservation and language policies,
  • socio-linguistics and language endangerment,
  • language contact studies,
  • language documentation and archiving resources,
  • anthropological linguistics,
  • oral literature.

 
To present a paper at 11·ical, download and fill the following form:

This form, containing your abstract (10-20 lines), should be renamed with your surname, and sent to:

lacito@cnrs.fr

  • If specific fonts are required, please use Unicode fonts or send  .pdf files.
     
  • The languages of the conference will be French and English. Your abstract should use either of these two languages, at your convenience.
     
  • Students are encouraged to apply.
     

The deadline for the submission of abstracts is September 30, 2008. The notification of acceptance will come in October.

Presenters are expected to have 30 minutes each – 20 for presentation and 10 for discussion.

  • Note that this rule may change later, based on the number of participants.

Theme- or area-related panels are also invited.

Participants interested in organising a panel should download and fill the following form:

The address and the deadline for panel proposals are the same as for individual papers: September 30, 2008.
