m̈a isa~   loc. [event] happen to (s.o), affect (s.o); [événement] survenir, arriver à (qqn), affecter (qqn).

Sava hina jo pa m̈a isa-ku? ‘What's going to happen to me, what will be my destiny?’ ‘Qu'est-ce qui va m'arriver, quel sera mon destin?’

iso   [iso] vi. 1 • end, finish; s'achever, se terminer, finir.

Kesi no-m ran mo isoiso kesi! ‘Your days will end today! (you're going to die)’. ‘Tes jours se terminent aujourd'hui ! (tu vas mourir)’.

Usa jo iso, jo pa v̈a inu hae. ‘After the rain [when the rain stops], we'll go and drink kava.’ ‘Après la pluie [quand la pluie aura cessé], nous irons boire du kava.’

Om r̄e hanhan mo r̄e iso? ‘Have you finished eating?’ ‘Tu as fini de manger ?’

Jo re o r̄ang jo iso, o pa hanhan. ‘If you stop crying, you'll be able to eat.’ ‘Si tu finis de pleurer, tu pourras manger.’

▷ Normalement conjugué à la 3ème personne, quel que soit le sujet de V1. Always conjugated in the 3rd person, whatever the subject of V1.

mo iso   asp. [after a first verb phrase VP1 marked as Perfect (r̄e)] already; (précédé par un syntagme verbal SV1) auxiliaire aspectuel d'Accompli: "déjà". Génér. accompagné du préfixe de Parfait r̄e, selon le schéma [Suj r̄e SV1 mo iso].

Mo m̈ar̄ahu m̈ar̄a r̄am̈ar̄e mo r̄e han-i-a r̄ap̈ala-na mo iso. ‘He was terrified at the idea that his friend had just been devoured by a devil.’ ‘Il était terrorisé, à l'idée que son ami venait d'être dévoré par un démon.’

lo wik mo v̈a mo iso ‘last week [in the week that has passed]’. ‘la semaine dernière [dans la semaine qui est passée]’. The pattern is <Subj r̄e VP1 mo iso>.

isoiso   ni. end of <s.th.>; fin.

Lo isoiso m̈auri-m o mas jolo lo r̄as. ‘At the end of your life, you must drown in the sea.’

ivua   [iβua] n. turtle; tortue.

Mo le karu mo v̈a mo les Ivua. ‘(The Rat) swam on a little, until he saw the Turtle.’ ‘Il nagea encore un peu, jusqu'au moment où il aperçut la Tortue.’
